Always make time for the things or people that make you happy. That is a golden rule.
As they say, the best thing you could give a person is your most precious time. Its intangible and irreplaceable nature makes it the choicest sacrifice a person can give up for another to show how important they are to them. While on this earth one should always make time. Time is only for humans and not for the Gods. It is a precious gift that we have been given that we need to spend wisely.
Here are a few reasons why you should always make time for what makes you happy:
1. Life is short. You only get to live once.
“Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time” – Marthe Troly-Curtin
Yes, that’s true. Every experience is unique and not everyone is lucky enough to have it. Make sure to spend some time with the people you love, friends that were there through good and bad times, and other people who have made a positive impact in your life. Also, do activities that will make you feel happy, such as pampering yourself, drinking a glass of wine or beer, taking a quick vacation or getaway, shopping, or even just laying down in bed a little longer on the weekends.
2. We all deserve a much needed break.
If you have been working more than 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, you deserve a break! Everyone does. Never miss an opportunity to make time for slowing down.
As Anthony G. Oettinger once said, “Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.” So take it easy. No need to rush things; we need procrastinations once in a while, unless it’s a matter of life and death!
3. It is absolutely FREE, but the payback of memories are PRICELESS!
Memories are meant to be shared and felt whether good or bad. Making new ones will give you something to look forward to, and cherishing existing ones makes you think, “Hey, I should do that again,” or realize that, “Hey I did the right thing from the very start.”
It is always best to make time for everything. It’s a reflection of how good you are in managing time and how grateful you are that you never missed an opportunity.
Just keep adding on to your memories. And keep in mind, as Benjamin Franklin said, “Lost Time is never found again.”
