Jesus Christ as Spiritual Food

When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty: Jeremiah 15:16

What does it mean to take in Jesus Christ as spiritual food? Partaking in his body and blood means not only accepting Jesus Christ, but also being one with him. When you eat his body and drink his blood, he enters you, and becomes a part of you.

When you allow yourself to be made one with Jesus, you naturally walk in his ways. Your actions, language, and thoughts are spiritually enlightened, as Jesus Christ is food for the spirit.  That said, you must uphold what it means to be elevated on a spiritual level.

A person who is one with Jesus Christ does as Jesus Christ would. He or she would refrain from sins, even those that are considered to be “acceptable” these days. One who walks in Christ’s ways does not gossip about others, is never dishonest, does not cause harm unto others, and respects all of creation.
